Simply plug in the transmitter, and it emits a constant radio signal from an adjustable 5- to 90-feet in all directions. To begin, temporarily define the pet area with boundary flags for a visual aid in training the pet. The animal also wears a receiver collar with contact points touching the neck. When the pet strays into the warning zone the receiver collar gives a warning beep. If the pet continues into the warning zone, a safe, static correction is delivered through the contact points until the animal returns to the safe pet area.

The transmitter, which measures 8-1/2 by 9 by 9 inches, features an "on/off" switch, a boundary-control dial, a "high/low" switch, and a power indicator light. The WalkyDog "lead" can be extended to a maximum of 14". If you find that the combination of the height of your bike and the 14" lead isn't enough, you can attach the WalkyDog lead to another lead for additional length or, you can pretty easily replace the cord used in the WalkyDog lead with a cord of a custom length. You can purchase cord of this type at many hardware stores.
